City Based Issues of Particular Interest:
Adequate funding for public-school buildings and programs; fiscal issues, including ways to use city funds more effectively and ways to reduce the property tax burdens on needy seniors and other needy citizens; land-use regulation so as to preserve the quality of Newton and to meet other city needs, such as open space, historic preservation, affordable housing, and appropriate commercial and residential development to expand the tax base.
